Battery settings
Change these only if listening stops unexpectedly; unrestricted use can increase battery drain.
Pixel
Open Settings → Apps → See all apps → Clap & Whistle Phone Finder → App battery usage. Make sure background use is allowed. During Extreme Battery Saver, add the app to Essential apps if you need listening to continue. Menu names can vary by Android version.
Samsung Galaxy
Open Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Background usage limits. Remove the app from Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps; if needed, add it to Never sleeping apps. You can also open the app’s Battery page and choose Unrestricted.
Xiaomi and Redmi
On supported versions, open Settings → Apps → Permissions → Background autostart and allow the app. Also review the app’s battery setting and avoid Battery saver or Ultra battery saver while you need listening. HyperOS and MIUI labels differ by model and region.
Oppo
Open the app information screen, then review Battery usage and allow background activity. On ColorOS versions that show Auto launch or App launch management, allow the app there too. Exact labels vary, so use Settings search for “battery usage” or “auto launch.”
Vivo
Open Settings → Battery and look for Background power consumption management, then allow the app to continue in the background. Some Funtouch OS versions also have Autostart in permission management. Use Settings search when the menu name differs.
Re-test after one change
Start listening, lock the phone, and run a short realistic test. Avoid disabling system-wide battery protection when an app-specific setting is available.
